Getting started and using the extension is easy.

Install on your browser

Installing the extension is easy. Using it is even easier.

Google Chrome

For installing on Google Chrome or Chromium-based browsers, follow the guide below.

  1. Open Chrome: Launch Google Chrome on your Windows, Mac, or Linux computer.
  2. Type chrome://extensions/ in the address bar and press Enter.
  3. On the Chrome Webstore, search for WhatFont and click on "Add to Chrome"
  4. After installation, an icon for the extension will appear in the top-right corner of Chrome, next to the settings icon.
  5. To use it, click on the extension icon.
  6. Hover on a page's content to see the typography information.

Mozilla Firefox

For installing on Mozilla Firefox browser and its release families, follow the guide below.

  1. Open Firefox on your Windows 10, Mac, or Linux PC.
  2. Click the hamburger menu icon (three horizontal lines) in the top-right corner of the window.
  3. Select “Add-Ons” from the drop-down menu.
  4. You’ll find any extensions or themes you have installed in this section.
  5. To download new extensions, click “Find More Add-Ons” at the bottom of the page.
  6. You’ll be taken to Mozilla’s storefront for add-ons.
  7. Click the “Extensions” tab to browse or use the search box at the top of the screen.
  8. Once on the extensions tab, search for WhatFont on the search bar, select it to see more information.
  9. Click “Add to Firefox” to install the extension.
  10. Lastly, a message will show you where the extension lives. Click “Okay, Got It” to finish up.
  11. To use it, click on the extension icon.
  12. Hover on a page's content to see the typography information.
